What is a public FTP directory?
A public FTP directory is a place where anyone can access files to either
upload or download them. Usually the only password is the user's e-mail address. Public FTP directories are different
from other FTP directories in this sense, that they are easily accessible by anonymous users. Other FTP directories
can be protected by passwords so that their accessibility is limited to certain users.
