How do newsgroups work?
Newsgroups are bulletin boards that exist on special news servers. Usually
each bulletin board is allotted a certain amount of space on the server, and when that space has been filled, the
older messages are purged, and new messages take their place. The messages range from conversations about an incredibly
huge variety of topics to the trade of pictures and software programs. No matter your personal interests, you will
most likely find a newsgroup devoted to it.
In order to read posts to newsgroups, users must have a newsreader.
This software lets the user access messages and post messages as well.
