Curiosity Question

One-Point Extra-Credit

 

Taurine is an organic acid widely distributed in the human body with numerous biological functions. Lately, it has become a popular additive in so-called energy drinks, including RedBull and 5-hour Energy.

Research and detail the currently known physiological effects of taurine on the human nervous system at the cellular (synaptic) level and provide a physiological argument as to whether this chemical's inclusion into"'energy drinks" is consistent and useful in any way.

For up to one (1) point of extra-credit, your submission must be typewritten, at least 150 words and include references to scientific literature you utilized.

You may submit your synopsis anytime on or before Lecture Exam No. 2.
