CA 221 Computer Concepts & Applications in Business

>>> *** This class meets entirely online *** and there are no campus meetings.

>>> Students must complete the Introductory Discussion assignment by 11:30 p.m. PST on Wednesday, February 7, or risk being dropped as a no show.

Online class entry will be available no later than the start of the semester Monday morning at 8 a.m. and may be accessed by clicking on the Canvas link located near the bottom of the AVC Web page

>>> MS Office 2016 is used for all assignments in this course. This class does NOT cover MS 0ffice 2003, 2007, 2010, or 2013. If you do not have access to MS Office 2016, you should plan on using the campus computer labs to complete your assignments. It is possible to get through this course with previous versions of MS Office (except MS Access), however, students will be responsible for any differences in the layout of the program, and those differences do not constitute an excuse for missing, incorrect, incomplete, or late assignments.

If you wish to upgrade to Office 2016, there are discounts available to AVC students; checkout http://avconline.avc.edu/resources.html

Be sure that you have Access 2016! It does not come with the book, nor do any of the Office 2016 applications. Not all MS Office packages include Access 2016, so students may have to use the campus computer labs for the Access portion of the course.

>>> Login information for access to Canvas is the same as your myAVC login data.

>>> All email communication with the teacher must be through the AVC email system. I will not respond to non-AVC email.

>>> Assignments in the textbook require data files necessary to complete the assignments. The data files will be made available in the classroom, or may be downloaded from the publisher's Web site.
